The 51st iteration takes place tomorrow night at the Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua, Wellington, headlined by a mega 4-man tournament under Full Thai rules. Four fighters will enter the tournament, with one emerging as the Ultimate Four-Man Champion with a shiny belt and $1000 to spend.
FOUR MAN FULL THAI TOURNAMENT
The four men set to compete in the tournament are given below:
Josh Lay Robertson (6-0-0)
Fighting out of Kapiti Thaiboxing, Josh is undefeated in the ring. He is to return tomorrow night after an injury layoff. Last time out his arm got broken in the first round, yet he still came back to KO his opponent. He’s back like the Terminator with pins, rods, and screws in his arm, ready to take home that belt.
Hendrick Mutale
A pugnacious destroyer fighting out of the Fightshop in Palmerston North, Hendrick is always keen to fight. He has been known to accept fights at higher weights just to get a chance to scrap in the ring. This four-man tournament is an opportunity he has been looking forward to.
Corey Dunn
Corey Dunn is a whirlwind of aggression fighting out of Scorpion Thaiboxing, Dunn has a high output and always brings the pace, using angles and a lot of movement to employ his counter-fighting game. Corey is coming off a win over Hendrick Mutale in what was a Fight of the Night performance. He is ready to take out this tournament.
Jared Everleigh
Jared Everleigh is a man on a mission. With saint-like discipline he skipped the big Christmas dinner and trained over the break, just to be in peak condition for tomorrow’s event. His last fight had the crowd on their feet and he hopes to repeat that feat by taking home the belt from the four-man tournament.
