Shuriken Fight Series 8 in Auckland is just around the corner.
More than 20 fighters, aged 18-40, are expected to step into the octagon on March 28.
Fighters are coming from South Africa and Australia, and there will be three title fights on the card.
"We having been doing SFS for nine years. We have had Dan Hooker, Israel Adesanya, Shane Young, EV Ting and more," says Shuriken NZ owner and head trainer Jason Vorster,
Dan Hooker will be taking on Paul Felder in the Lightweight main event at UFC 168 in Auckland this Sunday.
Adesanya is the current UFC MIddleweight champion and is preparing to take on Yoel Romero at UFC 248.
Ev Ting fights out of Auckland and is currently signed to ONE Championship, where is fights in the Lightweight division.
Shane Young is a New Zealander mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Featherweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Jason says a lot goes into planning an event of this magnitude.
"You have weigh-ins. Making sure everyone shows up and makes weight on the Friday. You have to organise photographers, catering, lighting, camera men and TV crew, medical staff for weigh-ins, medical staff for the night."
There are also judges, fighters matching, travel and accommodation for fighters, advertising for the build up to the shows, organising security on the night, ring girls, set up of cage which take six guys, set up of tables and advertising material for sponsors, lanyards - designing them and getting them to all the tables and people sitting ringside to organise.
Jason says once all that is done, people can expect a packed event with full tables all around, buffet dinner with wine and beers on the table and to top it off, action packed fights.
