Impact Fight Night 5 starts at 5 pm this Saturday, 22^nd February at the Morrinsville Event Centre. The fight card has been finalised, with three WKA title belts up for grabs in addition to a bunch of juicy undercard fights.

The event is being promoted by Freestyle MMA Morrinsville.

WKA TITLE FIGHTS

Super Heavyweight NZ Pro K1 Title

The main event sees Riki Barclay (South Island Lee Gar) and Moe Hussain (SMAC Featherston) fight for the vacant Professional K1 New Zealand WKA Super Heavyweight title.

The two men have fought before, with Hussain edging Barclay by split decision at King of Kings 8 in Christchurch in 2019. The clinch work of Hussain was what won him that fight, but Barclay is coming back for vengeance, this time with a New Zealand title on the line.

Both men are elite, with Barclay (32-11-2) being the top-ranked male in the AMTA rankings.  He is the current WKA South Island Super Heavyweight Champion, the Gladiator South Island Super Heavyweight Champion, and the former IKBF Commonwealth Champion. Hussain (15-7-0) is also a multiple titleholder.

70kg Central North Island Glory Rules Title

Riki's South Island Lee Gar stablemate Sam Haggitt is fighting for the North Island WKA Glory Rules title at 70kg. He will face Dungeon Thai Boxing's Yuuma Kohori.

Kohori is a dangerous fighter, placing 5th in the 2019 Asian-Pacific WKA Championships at 63.5kg and having a total of 14 fights so far. Haggitt is slightly more experienced with 16 fights on his record and is returning from ACL injury rehab and will look to lay his claim back amongst New Zealand’s elite kickboxers with a title win on Saturday.

Junior 67kg Central North Island K1 Title

The third title fight is for the Junior 67kg K1 Central North Island WKA title. It sees Rhino Fight Club's Isaac Azangwa and Arapeta Werahiko from Manawa Toa Muay Thai compete for the second time.

The two young men have faced each other previously, with Werahiko being awarded the decision victory. Azangwa will be coming with vengeance in his mind in the rematch, this time with a title on the line.
