The crowd erupted into cheers as the first CKB fighter Kai Kara-France took the stage, bedecked in a pounamu necklace, at the UFC Auckland ceremonial weigh-ins this afternoon.

As the New Zealand fighter went face-to-face with his opponent for tomorrow, Kara-France mimed cutting his throat while performing a pukana.

The crowd erupted again as NZ favourite Brad Riddell’s name was announced.

When he stripped off his shirt, the silver fern painted large upon his chest was revealed. This drew further cheers from the Auckland crowd.

Ben Sosoli ‘the Combat Wombat’ had also painted himself to be revealed when he stripped off his shirt, but in his case, he had drawn on a six-pack of abdominals on his belly.

Emil Meek took the stage next with a bounding leap, spraying something ( possibly water) into the air from his mouth as he stood on the scales.

Jake Matthews faced off against him and the two men seemed as though they were long-lost friends: grinning and clasping hands.

Undefeated Josh Culibao looked unfazed as he faced off with the towering a Jalin Turner.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz carried her Polish national flag to the stage as she faced off with Xiaonan Yan.

Michel Oleksiejczuk also carried out the same red and white Polish flag, before his opponent Jimmy Crute came out with a huge Australian flag and stripped off his walkout shirt to throw into the crowd and make a young fan’s day.

Dan Hooker also came out with the New Zealand flag around his shoulders, following hot on the heels of his stirring promo video speech in which he promises to land something on Felder’s chin and send him off the planet.

Dan Hooker will headline tomorrow's UFC event with Paul Felder.

As the two men faced off, Hooker pushed his face right into Felder’s, reminiscent of the Maori hongi greeting but with much more aggression and animation.

Hooker then promised that he would fold Felder in half before and as Kara-France did, mimed cutting his throat while sticking his tongue out for a pukana of his own.
