In the second fight on the UFC Auckland, Angela 'Overkill' Hill stepped in on short notice and took out elite Muay Thai stylist Loma Lookboonme via three-round decision.

The first round played out largely on the feet, with Hill pressing the action and Lookboonme slinging crisp strikes from the outside.

With 40 seconds to go, Hill finally snatched a leg and powered through into the double, taking Loma down and dropping some strikes before the round ended. 10-9 Hill.

Hill was competitive in the stand-up department, despite the supposed advantage of elite Thai stylist Lookboonme.

Halfway through the second round, Lookboonme tripped Hill to the canvas, straight into her active guard.

Hill quickly attempted an armbar and when Loma defended, adjusted into a reverse triangle.

Lookboonme managed to get to her feet eventually, but the round belonged to Angela Hill. 10-9 Hill.

Round three saw Hill do more of the same: either all the way out or all the way into the clinch looking for takedowns, trying to avoid extended exchanges in the pocket with Lookboonme.

When the exchanges did occur, Lookboonme had crisp technique, thowing snappy kicks and trading elbows in the clinch.

The judges rendered their decision: a unanimous victory for Angela ‘Overkill’ Hill (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
