Xiaonan Yan lived up to the hype this afternoon with a clinical destruction of Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC Auckland, taking her record to 12-1-0 in pro MMA.

Yan busted up the face of Kowalkiewicz with accurate strikes output at a high rate. In the second round, Kowalkiewicz started shielding her right eye, clearly protecting an injury inflicted by Yan.

At the start of the third round, Kowalkiewicz’ face was swollen and bloody. She ate a side kick to the face, after which a grappling exchange occurred, wherein she had her most successful moment of the fight, hunting a heel hook.

Yan rode it out successfully though, ending up on top dropping bombs to seal a convincing victory.
