UFC has announced its return to Perth for UFC®251 at RAC Arena on Sunday, June 7.

In partnership with the State Government, through Tourism Western Australia, this event marks UFC’s return to Perth with a Pay-Per-View event following UFC® 221: ROMERO vs. ROCKHOLD in February 2018 that resulted in an attendance of 12,437.

Hot off the heels of a record-breaking year, UFC fans in Perth can look forward to a championship main event and a world-class fight card come June… and the first bout is already confirmed.

In a five round title fight, UFC women’s flyweight champion,Valentina “The Bullet” Shevchenko will take on challenger and UFC’s No.3 women’s flyweight, Joanne “JoJo” Calderwood from Scotland. Kyrgyzstan’s reigning champ, Shevchenko is fresh off her victorious title defence at  UFC® 247: JONES vs. REYES earlier this month by TKO.

“We are so pumped to announce our return to Perth,” says UFC President, Dana White. “Perth was an amazing host city to us in 2018 and come June 2020, we’ll be back with a stacked card headlined with a championship fight. Australian fans are some of the best in the world, and we look forward to putting on another massive show for them.”

Helping make the announcement today at RAC Arena was recently crowned UFC featherweight champion, Alex Volkanovski; David Shaw, Senior Vice President of International and Content, UFC; and Paul Papalia, WA Minister for Tourism.

“We’re looking forward to this event being another great success and one that solidifies Perth as a regular host city for UFC’s future championship bouts,” said Tourism Minister, Paul Papalia. “It’s a welcome addition to our line-up of events that include top-tier sports, arts, and cultural events that give our State global exposure and encourage people to holiday here.”

Collectively, these events have seen over 265,000 fans in attendance and millions worldwide watching on PPC and broadcast television.

The six host cities to date – Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth – have had a cumulative gross gate of more than $45 million and millions more in economic impact.
