Fightmetric stats show Hooker out-landed Felder 122 to 110

Official UFC Fightmetric stats available on ufc.com

The UFC's Fightmetric stats for Paul Felder vs Dan Hooker show that Hooker out-landed Felder by 122 to 110 in significant strikes.

This is a stark contrast to the stats which were displayed on the screen during the broadcast while the judges' scorecards were being tallied, which showed Paul Felder ahead by 133 to 119.

While basing a fight's result solely on the striking statistics is not always a good way to judge it, the newly revealed statistics from ufc.com paint a very different picture to what was shown to the audience directly following the fight.

These appeared to show Felder with a clear strike advantage of 14 significant strikes during the bout, as below.

Perhaps these incorrect stats influenced many people who displayed outrage that the result was a robbery and that Felder was the rightful winner. The internet has been divided over the result, with many coming down on either side of the topic.

The official Fightmetric stats show that Hooker out-landed Felder in rounds one, three, and five, as well as tying him at 26 strikes apiece in round two.

The judges' scorecards were fairly inconsistent, with only rounds one and four being agreed upon between all three judges. Interestingly, it was judge Barry Foley who voted in favour of Paul Felder: the same judge who had Magomed Mustafaev winning his bout with Brad Riddell.

Foley gave round three to Felder, despite Hooker landing at both a higher accuracy (61% to Felder's 49%) and a higher total number of strikes (39 to Felder's 28) during that round.

Both of the other judges of the fight gave round three to Dan Hooker.
